Some curious recent events in the Socialist Party (Part I)
Sudden resignation of Eric Besson, one of Mme Royal’s
right-hand men and advisers.
Eric Besson, Member of the French parliament for Drome, and the
Socialist Party’s national secretary, was until recently in
charge of economic and taxation matters, and therefore of calculating
the total cost of the Socialist Project for the Presidential and
Legislative elections : will it amount to € 35 billion, more,
or less? It’s anybody’s guess. The internal contradictions
between extreme left-wing and more moderate Socialist members, their
disagreements, and other controversies, exerted such pressure on
him thathe finally resigned on February 14.
